Becca Hart Featured in CanvasRebel: Trauma, Brainspotting & Finding…

In her CanvasRebel feature, Becca shared the philosophy at the heart of her work — and the winding path that brought her to it.
Her biggest advice for anyone seeking therapy? Two things: the therapeutic relationship is the strongest predictor of success, and it helps to choose an approach that reaches the midbrain, where trauma gets stuck. A good therapist, she says, should be “an attuned presence, a soft landing pad.” Talk therapy engages the thinking brain; approaches like Brainspotting, EMDR, and IFS reach deeper, helping process trauma and ease the triggers that follow us into the present.
Becca also shared her story — leaving a small town in Georgia and flying to Denver in 2006 with two suitcases, following an intuition that she was headed the right way. That journey led her to Brainspotting, and eventually to becoming a Certified Brainspotting Consultant who helps other clinicians reach certification.
Woven throughout are her three mottos — meeting clients where they are, partnering rather than directing, and holding space with no judgment — plus the music-loving spirit behind her invitation to find your soul song.
