Parenting Toddlers (Hint: You’re Doing a Great Job!)
You’ve just had the worst day ever with your little one. Parenting toddlers can be an overwhelming experience for anyone. For toddlers too, life is hard! Nothing is their size, everything is for big kids, they have to sit still and be silent at times when they have so much energy, and they don’t know what to do with themselves.
Emotional Development in Toddlers
Their feelings are so BIG and so hard to handle sometimes. You get frustrated and you get angry. Then you feel guilty, and maybe even a little ashamed. You wish you could go back in time and use some other tool. When parenting toddlers, know that every mom and dad feels like throwing in the towel sometimes. Obviously we can’t, but hiding in the bathroom for a minute sometimes feels like it gives us that momentary relief. Screaming into a pillow is totally normal too. A good cry can be beneficial for your health as well as seeing a professional counselor.
Parenting Toddlers is for the Strong (That’s You!)
You’re doing a good job, momma. I know that because you are reading this right now. You are thinking
about reaching out for help. And, we all need help sometimes. It’s true.
Your child’s feelings are bigger than they can handle on their own, so they need our help. But
there’s no instruction manual, and sometimes we don’t know how to be there for them or what
they really need.
This is where I come in. As a licensed therapist with ten years of experience working with
children and their parents, and as a fellow parent of young children, I have tools that will help
change your perspective of your little one, and learn what they are truly capable of. I will help
you feel better about your relationship with your child.
